Shamus Flynn
About
Shamus is a problem solver. Clients across the country—spanning myriad industries—turn to him to grapple with sophisticated and vexing issues. A combat-tested leader with an inherent bias for action, Shamus vigorously advocates for his clients’ interests.
Drawing on his experience as a former judicial law clerk to Judge Johnnie B. Rawlinson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and having led Marines in combat, Shamus operates best when the stakes are high. He provides clients “big firm” results with the personal touch found only at a boutique firm. By leveraging his experience, Shamus helps clients navigate complex business and commercial concerns; personal injury cases; employment disputes; and civil and criminal appeals. He litigates cases from start to finish—guiding clients from initial pleadings to mediations and settlement conferences, all the way through arbitration and trial.
Prior to founding Flynn Law Group, Shamus co-founded and led another law firm. After completing his clerkship with Judge Rawlinson, Shamus cut his teeth as an attorney at Baker Botts, a leading global law firm. While there, his practice focused on litigating complex regulatory matters involving energy, land use, protected species, mining, infrastructure development, sensitive business concerns, and appeals.
Before clerking for Judge Rawlinson, Shamus received a taxation LLM from NYU School of Law and subsequently served as a mergers and acquisitions associate at the global consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in its Silicon Valley office. In this position, Shamus helped multinational clients navigate complex corporate and tax laws.
Prior to attending law school, Shamus served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, where his tour of duty included a one-year combat deployment to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. His combat decorations include, among others, a Purple Heart and Combat Action Ribbon.
Shamus is licensed to practice in California and Nevada.
