Appellate Options After a Shareholder Dispute Judgment

When a trial court issues an adverse judgment in a shareholder dispute, the losing party may appeal. In Nevada state matters, appeals proceed to the Nevada Court of Appeals or directly to the Nevada Supreme Court on questions of law, corporate governance standards, or the proper application of NRS Chapter 78. Federal matters involving federal securities law or diversity jurisdiction proceed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Preserving appellate rights requires timely and properly framed objections at the trial court level.
